Abstract
Narrative Medicine can be complementary to evidence-based medicine as physicians delivered it in an individualized, humane, and comprehensive way. How to practice it is challenging for most clinicians; we have built twelve tips to develop the framework of practicing narrative medicine. To let the stake-holders understand the significance of narrative medicine, to learn to listen to the patients through literature apprehension and writing a similar narrative, to learn to write patient stories as representations of patients' storytelling and to share them with patients, finally to build the bonds between the clinicians and patients were steps suggested to realize narrative medicine practicing. We have constructed twelve tips to develop the framework of narrative medicine based on the literature and an oral history of optic neuritis. Hopefully, this practice would lead to better clinical outcomes and enhance resilience between clinicians and patients.
