Abstract
Taiwan, long recognized for its robust and accessible healthcare system, now faces emerging challenges due to rapid advancements in medical technology, shifting healthcare delivery models, demographic transitions particularly population aging, and evolving societal expectations. In response, the Ministry of Health and Welfare launched the Healthy Taiwan Cultivation Plan in April 2025 to implement key health policy goals. The program focuses on four themes: 1) Improving working conditions for medical personnel; 2) Cultivating diverse talent; 3) Integrating smart medical technology; 4) Promoting socially responsible, sustainable medicine. A key focus is medical education and professional development, aligning with global trends in competency-based education, interprofessional collaboration, and workplace-based learning. Addressing workforce shortages and supporting career development are central goals. The Journal of Medical Education invites research submissions related to this initiative, encouraging both international and domestic contributions to help reshape the future of healthcare and medical education in anticipation of evolving needs.
