The Role of Computer-assisted Instruction in Today's Nursing Curriculum
Abstract
Innovation has certainly been an important component of the development of nursing education throughout history. Computer-assisted instruction (CAI) programs used in nursing education have become important in the teaching and learning process. The nature of the trend of CAI as well as the factors leading to this trend are presented in this paper. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of CAI are illustrated and critically reviewed from reports in the literature. Finally, the difficulties experienced in implementing CAI were explored.
