Abstract
Problem-based learning (PBL) has been applied at many medical school in China for several years, but how to train qualified tutors and the evaluation of the tutor-training program are still need to be investigated. In this study, a systematically structured tutor-training program with three successive stages was developed in Shantou University Medical College (SUMC) and the effect of the program was investigated via feedback survey mechanisms and evaluated by Kirkpatrick evaluation model. The results showed all the participants were satisfied with the training program despite the high intensity of the training. The behavior of the trainee tutors has shown considerable positive change after the training which was also attested to by the favorable feedback from the students.
